Flipping the Summer Slide

The “summer slide” is the learning loss that happens when school is out for long periods of time. Children from low-income families are more affected because they often have less access to books, programs, and learning support. As a result, they can fall behind in Reading and Math, and these gaps grow over time.

You can flip the Summer Slide for a child this summer!

including academics, two meals per day, Vacation Bible School, and Arts and Sports enrichments.

Spring Update

It’s hard to believe how quickly the 2025-26 school year is flying by! We’re already deep into the fourth quarter, and end-of-year celebrations are just around the corner.

Over the past few months, our Eagle families have been incredibly engaged through a variety of parent-focused events, including:

• Saturday Side-by-Side – A Mardi Gras–themed morning with fun activities for students and a helpful “How to Help Your Child Succeed in School” seminar for parents

• Family Bingo Night – A joyful evening of connection, laughter, and prizes for the whole family

• Black Heritage Celebration – A meaningful event where parents and grandparents celebrated culture, community, and great food

• Parents Day – A special time for moms and dads to join their child’s class for hands-on activities and even recess

• The Leadership Cup – Parents jumped in to serve, support, and make the event a success
