At GCCS, we believe there’s something special about belonging to a team. Starting in 1st grade, every student is welcomed into one of our four “tribes” - bringing students in 1st through 5th grade together each month for friendly competition, encouragement, and a strong sense of belonging.
Tribe Initiation Day is a big day for our 1st graders and for students who are new to GCCS. It’s the beginning of something they will carry with them throughout their elementary years: the knowledge that they are part of something bigger than themselves. Our four tribe names come from different languages, but they all share the same meaning: LET’S GO!
Why? Because God never intended for His people to sit on the sidelines. We are called to go—to serve, to love, to lead, and to do His work in our own communities and beyond. That’s what we’re preparing our students to do every day at GCCS. And we pray that, long after they leave our halls, they will continue to be people who are ready to go wherever God calls them.
